Event Art Direction

Challenge:

Google Cloud’s annual conference is a massive, multi-day event bringing together thousands of attendees across numerous venues in San Francisco. In 2018, the team needed cohesive, high-quality design execution for a series of ancillary events held in seven distinct locations—including hotels, coworking spaces, and conference centers. The challenge was to maintain visual consistency and brand impact across a wide range of formats and environments.

Approach:

As an invited art director collaborating with the Google team at Jack Morton, I worked closely with designers, producers, and fabricators to translate the brand identity into physical spaces. My focus was on ensuring each touchpoint—from environmental graphics to signage—felt unified, elevated, and true to the Google Cloud brand.

Solution & Outcome:

I provided art direction and design oversight across multiple event environments, guiding the production of both small-scale and large-format materials. These included stage backdrops, podium signage, floor-to-ceiling wall graphics, standing menus, and wayfinding systems. The result was a cohesive visual experience that reinforced Google Cloud’s identity and created a seamless attendee journey across all locations.
